1. When it comes to patterns in your home, what's your approach?

Classic and nautical. Navy and white stripes, maybe a subtle anchor or wave motif, always feeling fresh and timeless

Simple, nature-inspired patterns. Subtle organic shapes, light wood grains, or hand-drawn lines that feel calm and artisanal

The more, the merrier! I love mixing classic patterns like toile, chinoiserie, and stripes on wallpapers, upholstery, and curtains

Minimal to none. I prefer solid colours. If I use a pattern, it's very subtle, like a small geometric or tonal stripe

Rich, traditional patterns. Damask, houndstooth, herringbone, or dark floral prints in deep colours on velvet or wool

Rustic and simple. Classic checks (gingham), simple stripes, or word art with uplifting quotes, often in a farmhouse context

Subtle texture over bold prints. I love the visual interest of a nubby linen, a woven rug, or a plastered wall, but not loud patterns

2. What's your approach to window treatments?

Minimal and functional. Almost bare windows to maximize light, or very simple, neutral-toned motorized shades for pure function

Rustic and casual. Farmhouse-style shutters, simple gingham or checkered curtains, or neutral roller shades that are practical and cozy

Layered and traditional. Patterned curtains with tiebacks, maybe paired with a sheer layer or a decorative valance for a finished, classic look

Simple and textural. Natural Roman shades, linen curtains that filter light softly, or simple roller blinds that disappear when not in use

Rich and heavy. Velvet drapes in a deep colour like burgundy or green, often pooled slightly on the floor for a dramatic, cocooning effect

Natural and minimalist. Woven bamboo shades or simple, unbleached linen panels that provide privacy while maintaining a light, airy feel

Crisp and classic. White or off-white shutters, simple white curtains, or navy and white striped shades for a clean, coastal look

3. How do you approach decor for your coffee table or shelves?

A curated few objects. A beautiful art book, a single sculptural object, and a small tray. Everything has space around it

Nautical and fresh. A stack of coffee table books about travel, a blue glass vase with fresh flowers, and a decorative shell or piece of coral

Rustic and family-friendly. A rustic tray holding remote controls, a candle in a mason jar, a couple of family photos, and a decorative "Gather" sign

Functional and beautiful. A small plant, a handmade ceramic mug used for pens, and a beautifully designed remote control holder. Nothing extraneous

Natural elements. A large wooden bowl, a stack of stones, a ceramic vase with a fresh branch, and a scented candle

Scholarly and layered. A globe, a magnifying glass, several stacks of books, an antique inkwell, and a bust of a historical figure

A collected assortment. Stacked books, a small vase, a vintage box, a framed photo, and a unique trinket box—all layered together

Bright and airy. Crisp, clean light from a mix of sources, like a classic white drum pendant and sunlight reflecting off white walls

Soft and layered. A combination of floor lamps, table lamps, and maybe some discreet pot lights, all with warm-toned bulbs

A statement piece. A beautiful, perhaps slightly ornate, chandelier or a unique sculptural lamp that becomes the room's focal point

Calm and diffused. Paper lanterns, woven pendants, and soft, indirect lighting that creates a peaceful, shadow-free glow

As much natural light as possible. Large, uncovered windows during the day, and simple, warm task lighting in the evening

Moody and focused. A dark lamp casting a warm pool of light on a desk, or sconces illuminating a bookshelf, creating intimate pockets of light
