In the heart of their recently renovated home, where Dyan and Brian decided to establish their roots, I was invited to focus on transforming the family room into a vibrant and inviting space.
Originally a sunroom, this area boasted panoramic views of a golf course and majestic trees, setting the stage for a captivating transformation. Now, it serves as the central gathering point for the family, a place to unwind and enjoy both television entertainment and the beauty of the outdoors.
Drawing inspiration from colorful souvenirs and artwork collected during their travels, a warm and inviting color palette emerged. Rust tones, juxtaposed against the cool grey-blue walls, creates a harmonious blend that resonates throughout the room.
To optimize functionality, we crafted a custom storage solution around the TV, seamlessly accommodating stereo equipment and a video player. Adjacent shelves provide a perfect showcase for the family’s cherished global treasures, while concealed lower storage discreetly houses items that don’t require constant visibility.
In the center of the room, a sectional sofa floats gracefully, offering a cozy vantage point equally oriented toward both the TV and the picturesque backyard view. Complementing this setup, a set of round stacking coffee tables with stone tops not only enhances the aesthetics but also provides additional surfaces for entertaining guests.
Upon entering this splendid family room, a warmer tone radiates from the strategically placed wall décor. The copper, gold, and silver elements of the plate wall décor create a symmetrical and impactful statement, enriching the overall ambiance against the backdrop of the grey-blue wall canvas. The result is a harmonious blend of style, comfort, and functionality—a testament to the thoughtful design and personal touch invested in this remarkable family room makeover.
