It was the perfect canvas for their next chapter and a space they were excited to transform into their ideal modern oasis.
Located in the highly sought-after City View neighbourhood, this newly built property offered clean architectural lines, thoughtful layout, and high-end finishes—the perfect foundation for a truly stunning contemporary interior makeover.
Modern Family Room Design with a Statement Fireplace
As anyone who’s moved homes knows, your existing furniture doesn’t always fit the new space visually or practically. That’s where professional interior design truly shines: it brings cohesion, comfort, and character while tailoring the space to the architecture and your lifestyle.
We began with the family room design, centering our vision around the striking fireplace with its dramatic marble surround. This feature became the heart of the room—a luxurious focal point that beautifully illustrates the elegance of contemporary design.
Creating a space that balanced style with function was key. We layered in a minimalist coffee table, a curvy modern sofa, and two inviting swivel chairs to support both everyday living and entertaining. Petite side tables offered convenience, while a cozy black boucle ottoman subtly drew attention back to the fireplace.
A stain-resistant, pet-friendly area rug ensured that even the family dog could enjoy the space comfortably. For added personality, we introduced dimensional shadow boxes featuring 3D string art as an unexpected and artistic touch that reflects the couple’s style.
A Welcoming and Functional Entryway
Your home’s entryway sets the tone for the rest of the space, and this one was no exception. We chose a large wood console with built-in drawer storage, finished with a sleek glass top. Above it, an oversized round mirror in a matte black frame created a sophisticated and welcoming moment.
One of my favorite details? The giraffe sculpture chosen by the homeowners. It adds a warm, playful touch—greeting guests with charm and character as soon as they walk in.
Serene and Stylish Bedroom Makeover
The couple’s primary bedroom design was all about layering comfort with a dash of bold personality. We worked with their existing bedroom furniture and brought it to life using thoughtful accents. A vibrant cobalt blue velour ottoman added a pop of color and texture, while custom bedding and playful, animal-print window treatments infused the room with lighthearted sophistication.
For a finishing touch, we added matching table lamps with glossy crackled ceramic bases, offering both balance and cozy lighting for evening reading.
